My life as a dj..
My ever trusty set-up.hahaha..i freaked my mum out when i suddenly appeared at the front door with so many boxes and such huge speakers.heh.sorry mum..
after i cleaned my room up abit,i decided to actually go and take another pict.ha...this time from the side view.i think its blardy artistic don't u think so?hahaha
Ah yes...my fren for life....the zouk lil robot.....the club with alot of memories for me....tsktsktsk....still my number one club till today...hahaha.....
I was talkin to my fren the other night....about dj's,bartenders and james bond.lol......she was tellin me that bartenders hav it better then djs.and i was arguing that we hav it better.well,she went on and on abt bartenders bein better,so i jus had to agree with her.hahaha.im gonna go get my bartending liscence jus to shut her up.rofl.....
Dj-ing for me,started off,with me looking thru my safra discount coupon book several yrs back.hahaha.....i had always been a clubber,and i had always been fascinated by the man behind the console,controlling the crowd....i was sick of clubbin by then,so i decided to actually take up the course with another fren....dj-ing had been on our list of things to do before we die.heh....
So we signed up with audiosports for the classes,and it took off from there.....i got rpetty into the thing,although it was still jus a hobby for me.ha..all in all,i wld say ive spent at least 7-8k on the hobby....bugger....its not a poor man's hobby i can tell u that....and i was a poor man,so it was damn troublesome.hahaha........
After i graduated,i started getting gigs.....first thru my mentor andrew,then after that,i stared lookin for gigs to get done myself...i went to dj forums,visited shows,went to competitions,met frens of frens.....and finaly,got the hook ups i needed...by ard the 2nd yr of my army,i was all geared up...ppl wld call me to spin for nights,or if they were not free,ask me if i was able to take over them...we had house parties,where we had different genres of music blasting into the night,the people lookin like they were high on crack and booze,swaying to music we churned out.hahaha.....it was great...i loved spinning....there was some sort of raw energy involved in it for some blardy reason....u had control over those on the floor.hahaha....
With gigs,came the popularity i guess....it's pretty sad,but girls these days are damn easy.hahaha....jus tell them ur a dj,and some idiots will go...wahh!!!..sometimes u jus feel like smackin them....most of us arent in it for the girls(though we look),or the money(though we charge,we got to eat too mates.hahaha).we;re mostly in it for the music.....that raw energy booming out of the speakers....amazing.u got to be up there before u can feel wat i mean.hahaha....i ever brought a fren up to the console of a club...and she freaked out for the night.heh.....easy...
With ur reputation as a dj,and the connections u made,clubbing by itself became easier too.hahaha...i found myself getting into clubs for free,with jus a phonecall,being offered club memberships,bein given free drinks,bein shown to the vip areas when all the other young punks ur age wld jus look on in envy....shit,i mus admit,it was pretty fun and intense.hahaha....though i guess it was sadlah....i found myself gettin more frens,whom,i dunno,for the benefit of the doubt,i shall say liked me for myself and not becos i got them into clubs for free.hahaha.....Hot girls,free drinks,late nights,it was all part and parcel of my life...hahaha
the funny part is,my mum is a pretty strict parent.ha......and she doesnt rely noe wat i do in the nite when i leave the houselah.hahaha.i make it a point to tell her,that im jus headed out to a frens place.heh.for some gaming.hahaha.....and i also make sure i get the smoke and alcohol smell off of me before i get home too.tsk.even i hate the smell,i cant expect my mum to like it....ha...yeap..it sure has been a swell few yrs of dj-ing...i hope ill be able to carry it on even when i land myself a proper job....it wld be shitloads of fun.heh...till the next enrty guys...if u need a dj,holler at me.ha.if im free,ill c wat i can do abt it....cheers!
